Benito is just a tiny 6-month-old Yorkie boy, jumping around doing tiny puppy things!  All of a sudden, he came up lame on his back leg and it wasn’t getting better.  Benito’s pet mom took him to the veterinarian and he was diagnosed with a fracture through the growth plate on his shin bone – right where the patella tendon and knee cap inserts!  This unfortunately, needed surgery and Benito’s mom did not have the funds for this.  The team at Ark Veterinary Care was able to schedule Benito for surgery within the next couple of days and SAGE Compassion for Animals was able to provide the funding.  Benito is being contained to a small cage to keep him from jumping as he heals from both the fracture repair and his neuter!!
