Dewey’s
Story
Dewey’s an older gentleman and his mom noticed that he wasn’t urinating as much and seemed to have a decreased appetite. She took him in to see the team at El Cerrito Pet Hospital and they diagnosed a urinary tract infection along with stones in his bladder and urethra (the tube from the bladder to the outside). They recommended the removal of the stones as they could cause a full blockage. They also recommended that Dewey be neutered because male dogs that are intact are prone to infections of the prostate (prostatitis) and this could be a contributing factor. Dewey’s mom was devastated because she didn’t have the money for surgery. She reached out to SAGE Compassion for Animals and along with a discount from her veterinarian, Dewey was able to get the surgery he needed!
