Orlie’s

Story

Orlie had found her way to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, but she was in a lot of pain and could barely walk.  She was a very special dog that needed a lot of veterinary care so that she could be adopted.  Muttville had arranged for Dr. Silverman, a veterinary cardiologist at SAGE Redwood City, to make sure her heart murmur wasn’t serious and had planned to have a dental performed for her severe dental disease – but it was the problems in her rear legs that were contributing to her pain the most.  She had medial patella luxations (kneecaps popping out) which are common in Chihuahua’s but were very severe in Orlie’s case.  Dr. Christine Hsueh, a veterinary surgeon at SAGE Campbell, was willing to perform the needed surgery on both of Orlie’s legs at the same time and have her spayed, but with all the needed care, Muttville reached out to SAGE Compassion for Animals to see if they could assist in the funding.  SAGEC4A was able to offer a grant and Orlie had surgery just before the new year…..more to come on Orlie’s story!
