Rukas is a young male cat, but unfortunately, he has had multiple bouts of urinary obstruction – and this time, his kidneys are showing severe elevations in his lab work.  The team at San Francisco SPCA were having a hard time unblocking him because he had this procedure in the past and sometimes that can cause each urinary catheterization to be harder and harder!  They finally were able to pass a catheter and get Rukas some IV fluids to bring down the kidney values, but he needed more time in hospital and his pet mom had run out of funds.  SAGE Compassion for Animals was able to fund that extra day and now Rukas is back home on a special diet to help prevent this from happening again.
