Whiskey’s

Story

Whiskey is a female, 8-year-old German Shepherd dog that was starting to slow down and was being a picky eater.  Her pet mom became worried when she saw abnormal discharge coming from Whiskey’s vulva and brought her to an emergency clinic.  They diagnosed an infected uterus (pyometra) and recommended surgery.  Whiskey’s pet mom didn’t have the financial resources to pay for the surgery and was told that night that she might have to consider euthanasia!  Whiskey’s mom found resources to help the next day – the team at the San Francisco SPCA was able to perform the surgery and they contacted SAGE Compassion for Animals to assist with funding.  Whiskey’s pet mom said that she is recovering well, happy, and they are healing together from this ordeal.
