Xena’s
Story
Xena, who may be small but is mighty, was jumping and playing and all of a sudden would not put weight on her front leg. She had broken her radius and ulna, which can happen to tiny dogs just doing normal dog things! Because their bones are so fragile, they do not heal well in a splint and Xena needed to have a plate put in surgically to allow the bones to knit together. The surgical team at Lenity Vet Specialists and Emergency Care provided a generous discount, but Xena’s parents needed to find more money to cover the specialized surgery. SAGE Compassion for Animals was able to provide those funds and the warrior princess not only had her fracture repaired but she was spayed as well!
